The FCC & the Presidency

Joseph Palermo and, through his call for an inquiry into the recent News Corp.-Wall Street Journal transaction, Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Michael Copps understand the stakes in the selection of the membership of a new FCC in the next presidency.

1). Enforce anti-trust laws to break up the media oligopolies;

2). Greatly expand the public broadcasting system, (especially news);

3). Publicly finance all political campaigns;

4). Implement a total ban on all political commercials on television;

5). Restore the FCC's fairness doctrine on the public airwaves.

Michael Copps is an American hero and a patriot. America needs more FCC commissioners who offer Commissioner Copps' brand of patriotic leadership when the next FCC nominations come before the United States Senate during the term of the next President of the United States.
