Al Gore's Endorsement for the Democratic Nomination

Since facing defeat at the hands of a partisan majority of conservative Supreme Court justices who nullified with impunity the will of the democratic majority in the 2000 election through the now infamous Bush v. Gore ruling, former Vice President Albert A. Gore, Jr. and his family have experienced grueling periods of disfavor within the Washington media establishment, vicious ridicule by right wing activists and a series of career evolutions including academia, filmmaker, author and now green finance.

In December 2003, Al Gore's endorsement of Governor Howard Dean gave a boost to the Dean campaign, but the endorsement occurred too early to have lasting, positive effect in the final critical weeks of that tempestuous campaign season.
In May of 2007, Al Gore gave a cerebral speech in Washington presenting his views on The Assault on Reason which diagnose the roots of the large civic frauds this nation has confronted in these past seven years of progress stalled by the tainted pool we find as our marketplace of ideas. Needless to say, Al Gore's historic speech was not given wide or complete coverage in either Tennessee or in the national televised media.

In 2007, if Al Gore decides to endorse one of the leading Democratic candidates, his vote of confidence will come from a man who has won an Oscar award for his powerful documentary Inconvenient Truth and the 2007 (shared) Nobel Peace Prize. For his prescience and leadership on the climate threat issue and for his courageous and vigorous criticism of the Bush administration's mismanagement of the fight against Al Qaeda and its monumentally ill-advised invasion of Iraq at a time when expressing inconvenient truths concerning the non-existence of WMD in Iraq was a costly gamble, Al Gore now enjoys the admiration and love of an overwhelming majority of Americans. Consequently, if he should decide to offer an endorsement in what promises to be a very close race among Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, former Senator John Edwards and Senator Barack Obama, that gesture of support could deliver just enough weight to tilt public opinion in favor of the candidate he embraces.
AR will take the risk of speculating publicly on Al Gore endorsing his former team member from his time as Vice President, junior New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The Nobel Peace Prize citation for Al Gore reads as follows:

Al Gore has for a long time been one of the world's leading environmentalist
politicians. He became aware at an early stage of the climatic challenges the
world is facing. His strong commitment, reflected in political activity,
lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle against climate change.
He is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater
worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted.

And in Norwegian:

Gjennom lang tid har Al Gore vore ein av dei leiande miljøpolitikarane i verda.
Tidleg blei han klar over dei klimautfordringane som verda møter. Gjennom eit
sterkt engasjement med politisk arbeid, foredrag, filmar og bøker har han styrkt
kampen mot klimaendringane. Han er truleg den einskildpersonen som har verka
mest til å skape auka global forståing for tiltak som er naudsynte.
